Talent Scout Scott Borchetta for The New York Times
The Business section recently asked me to shoot a story on talent scout Scott Borchetta who owns record labels Big Machine and Valory records here in Nashville. Scott has been in the industry since the 80's and was the person to first notice and sign Taylor Swift. For being such a big record industry record label owner he was the nicest guy. He allowed me to spend almost the entire day with him photographing him at his office while he worked and met with label artists, then to a big VIP event announcing the newest artist on his label, Reba McEntire, and finally to a private show where two of his newer acts were playing. He was CONSTANTLY approached by people all night just wanting to talk with him and Scott would listen to each of them intently and never seemed a bit rushed even though so much was going on.

Maddie
My daughter, Maddie, was recently in Ecuador for a week on a mission trip. She was there with her grandparents and others to help give medical treatment to some of the people living in extremely impoverished areas. I was really glad she went but missed her terribly. She came home yesterday and we went to the park and laid in the grass and talked about her trip and it was wonderful. Welcome home chica.
