Some stuff I shot for the NYT about a month ago. I followed writer Kevin Sack around to a few free health clinics in Nashville. Here's the link to the story.
Bill Parker suffers from Dementia and is being treated for Alzheimer's. His wife Shara, takes care of him at their home. He has started wandering off from his home lately.
My good friends Theo and Audie are leaving Nashville and moving to D.C. for some reason. What the hell guys? Anyway, Audie is a reporter for NPR and got a job transfer to cover Congress. Theo will moving up there in a month or so and freelancing. Both are amazing journalists and just cool ass people. Sucks to see them go.
This was one of those grip and grin assignments that we all as visual story tellers dread. But, its part of the business, and I DO appreciate the business, so you just try to make the best of it. As much as I dread these kinds of assignments as the next guy, there is always SOMETHING interesting to photograph. This was my best effort to make something different.
Also, I had to wear a tux, with tails.........and a white bow tie.........yep.
